Sweet sleep

Seeing her sleep and hearing her breathe contently fills my heart with love.

Liana met Santa

We never did Santa photos with Jaal and Lev, but today we happened upon Santa story time at the Kid's Market on Granville Island. He let her grab his beard.

Poo!

Liana took her first real food poo today. She has been enjoying avocado and we noticed! We have been doing "elimination communication" with her since she was a few days old which means that she sometimes uses a potty or the toilet. She knows the sound cue and she knows she is over the potty so when we put her there, she goes. She still soils many diapers but it is supposed to make potty training much easier if they know they don't have to soil themselves. It is a natural instinct to keep yourself clean that we are just assisting. Every poo we don't have to clean up is a big success, especially when they aren't milk poos anymore.

I took a picture but decided not to post it.

Great photo of Jaal feeding Liana

They are so cute together.
Lev was always the one that really loved babies and little kids,
but as you can see Jaal is quite tickled with his little sister.
She has won us all over and brought us joy.

Halloween

Thanks to Aunt Sue Ellen for making Liana a great costume!

Bedtime stories

Liana ate puréed sweet potato today and cauliflower. She is also enjoying a book before bedtime with daddy.

First food

Liana is five months old and we couldn't resist giving her her first food. She was grabbing at our plates and looking at our food. Today she ate cauliflower and had a great experience. It was steamed and she picked it up and fed herself. We are starting with vegetables she can hold instead of purees.

At the table

We will wait until she's closer to six months for food but she enjoys sitting at the table chewing on spoons.

Jumperoo

Yes, she likes it for about 15 minutes. -More than that at a time isn't supposed to be good for them anyway as they are "cheating," but she likes to stand and swing and bounce in it.

Liana has a cold

She has her first cold, with a runny nose and diarrhea. She went to the naturopath today and is taking acidophilus and replenishing with plenty of nursing. She's still my Sunshine, as you can see it hasn't made her too fussy.

Liana can roll onto her belly

At her four month check up she was 14 pounds, 4 ounces and 2 feet, 1 inch tall. That's the 50th percentile for weight and 70th for height. (Tall, thin, blonde and blue eyed like her parents) She can grab things well and rolls onto her belly. She loves to drool and put things in her mouth.

Green bean

It's not her official first food yet but she grabbed my raw green bean and started gnawing on it.
